Matt and his wife, Sarah, have been keeping a blog (bowensheart.com) as a way to update everyone with news of their unborn son. He has a heart complication known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). Matt recently posted a story about finding heart-shaped rocks. It’s encouraging.

You are all in my prayers. He is faithful…Thank you for the Sanctus Real songs, but especially for “Lead Me” and the story behind the song. It’s encouraging to see that is a reality for someone somewhere.
His kid too,

I wanted to let your family know that I am praying for you. I have a four year old daughter who was born with transposition of the great arteries. Her CHD went undetected until she was three weeks old. She has had one open heart surgery and one stent. I would like to encourage you by telling you that children with CHD’s are very resiliant. I’ll never forget the sinking feeling that I felt when we found out that she was sick. Within those first days of her hospitalization was the first time I heard “Praise You in This Storm” by Casting crowns. Until that point I thought I was putting my full trust in God over my daughter’s situation, but I quickly realized that I’d have to be willing to praise God even if she didn’t make it. We were granted a miracle. There is no reason that she should have lived for tree weeks in that condition, but God saw fit. I just want you to know that God is still in control. Good luck to you, your family, and Bowen. I will be praying for you, whole heartedly.
